“King Hussain of Pakistan…” winner of Best TV Documentary PRIX EUROPA

King Hussain of Pakistan – Queen Asia of Norway won the “Iris” category for
The Best Multicultural Programmme in Europe at PRIX EUROPA in Berlin.

The documentary is directed by Mr Fridtjof Kjaereng for f(x) productions AS i coorperation with The Norwegian Broadcasting Coorporation NRK.

This is the first time a Norwegian TV production has been awarded the PRIX EUROPA. 

King Hussain of Pakistan – Queen Asia of Norway won with a clear margin compeeting with films from the public broadcasters from all over Europe.

The film is also nominated to the Norwegian National Movie Award, Amanda.

King Hussain of Pakistan – Queen Asia of Norway shows Mr Gholam Hussain returning to his beloved homeland Pakistan building a grand house for himself and his family. But his wife, Asia Begum, is reluctant to move back with him. But she agrees to vistit him in Pakistan and see the house when their youngest son is to get married to a young Pakistani woman. What will Asia do? Live together with her husbond in Pakistan or return to Norway to live with her 3 sons and grandchildren?

The film is a coproduction between f(x) productions AS and The Norwegian Broadcasting Coorporation NRK.
The film is supported by Norsk Filmfond, Nordisk Film- and TV fond and YLE Finnish Television.
